MASKS ................................................................................. Click on image for larger version

Below are a number of late Victorian masks, reproduced in a vintage book, which come from the collections of Madame Tussaud’s in London and the Leksaksmuseum in Stockholm, Sweden. They were produced about 1900 by the famous British publishers, Raphael Tuck. They represent characters from Pantomime, Music Hall, Commedia dell’Arte, Carnival and Halloween.

The firm always encouraged the very highest standards in its designs and these high standards are reflected in the beautiful quality of the colour printing of the masks, faithfully captured in these reproductions which can be worn or framed.

The masks are full size, approx 11 inches x 9 inches, and can be used by adults and children alike. Each mask has a monochrome mirror image version to the reverse and presses out easily from the page.

Postage would be the same for up to 5 masks in the same package. Masks are £5.00 each

Victorian scraps first made their appearance in the 19th century. They became extremely fashionable in the 1880s and 1890s when they reached the peak of their popularity—and technical perfection. These vivid, colourful scraps captured the imagination of Victorian women who, up until this time, had had a limited choice of black and white and hand-tinted lithographs. They artfully arranged them in albums, along with greeting cards, mementos, paper lace and pressed flowers, to be passed on as keepsakes. They decorated workboxes, needle cases, furniture, screens, souvenirs and Valentine cards with delightful small images and sentimental messages.

These sheets are reproductions of some of those images.

Postage will be the same for one or multiple sheets. Actual sheet has no watermark. Scraps sheets are £1.50 each.
